Following a high-level meeting in Washington on Sept. 14 between Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and a delegation from Cybastion, the President’s Office announced a proposed partnership to strengthen Senegal’s cybersecurity capabilities and digital sovereignty.

The digital transformation partnership would support investments in a sovereign data center, cybersecurity, digital government services and workforce development. 

The proposed projects aim to advance Senegal’s New Deal Technologique and Senegal 2050 development agenda by modernizing public administration, expanding access to digital services and positioning technology as a driver of economic growth.

“Cybastion is proud to partner with Senegal to help achieve the country’s vision for a secure and resilient digital ecosystem,” said Dr. Thierry Wandji, President and CEO of Cybastion.

"Through our Digital Fast Track platform, we will work with the Senegalese government and financing partners to mobilize the technology, capital and expertise needed to deliver sustainable digital transformation,” he added.

The Digital Fast Track platform is Cybastion’s integrated approach to helping African countries build secure, resilient digital ecosystems through infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital solutions, and workforce development. Cybastion's energy solutions provide the reliable and resilient power infrastructure needed to sustain Africa's rapidly expanding digital economy.

Cybastion plans to mobilize $300 million to finance the digital transformation projects through a combination of public and private sources.

The projects will be developed in coordination with the Senegalese government and local and global partners and remain subject to negotiated project agreements, financing approvals and other implementation requirements.
