This annual cultural event celebrates the rich heritage of the Akan people who connect Ivorians and build a cultural bridge between Africa and the diaspora. This year, the Akan Festival will take placeApril 26-27 in Abidjan, attracting visitors from all over the region.
Founded byAlain Anzara, an innovator in the tourism and leisure sector, this young Ivorian of Akan origin made this cultural festival a gathering place to highlight Ivorian and African cultures and traditions. Anzara received theCybastion Innovation Award 2024for the most innovative start-up in the tourism and leisure sector in Ivory Coast.
As the Akan Festival enters its second year and continues to gain recognition, digital solutions will play a vital role in amplifying its reach and engagement. Cybastion, in partnership with the Ivorian Ministry of Tourism, will launch an innovative eTourism platform in April that aims to digitize and improve tourism services and events in Ivory Coast.
“It’s an interesting, flexible and practical boon for tourism professionals,” said Alain ANZARA about the Akan Festival.
Officially unveiled during the Sublimes Côte d’Ivoire event in December 2024, theeTourism platformserves as a digital gateway for booking tours, Ivorian cultural experiences and business travel. Visitors can access event details, plan their attendance and explore more of what Ivory Coast has to offer through the app.
